Peugeot have developed the 407 HDi saloon using modern yet recognisable body styling, the latest electronic safety and driver systems, proven mechanical components and new efficient diesel technology. Peugeot engineers and designers have created a safe, secure saloon which is spacious enough for five adults and all the luggage they could need, all this without adversely affecting the 407s road handling capability, performance or economy. Peugeot 407 HDi turbo diesel engines also meet Euro IV standards.

Drivers can also be content in the knowledge that the 407 is possibly the most refined and well equipped of all Peugeot models. Curtain, side and front airbags are standard, in addition to clever new devices to further protect the lower body in the event of an accident. Fixtures and fittings seem solidly constructed to a good level and noise within the cabin is muted even at motorway speeds.
