Totton has provided the ideal location for Nu-Car when the company moved form its first premises in Shirley. Located on a major commuter route, it was visible to thousands of motorists every day and the site was designed to communicate clearly that it was a diesel specialist. So much so, that every so often a traffic incident will cause the area to be mentioned in local radio traffic reports and is referred to as 'the diesel car centre', demonstrating that it has become something of a landmark in the area.

As the only dealership in the group at the time, it was important that the site could be reached easily by customers from all over the central South, from the key conurbations of Bournemouth, Portsmouth, Salisbury and of course, Southampton. With its new location at the foot of the M271, the site was destined to be a success.
